Free early powered mobility for your school – ‘Bugzi School Squads’
Room 2, 10:00 am. Seminar presented by Kate El Bizanti, Children’s Occupational Therapist and Clinical Lead for the Bugzi Loan Scheme, MERU & Mobility Services
Bugzi is a powered mobility vehicle that is loaned for free across the UK. Bugzi provides a high level of postural support and flexible controls for children with disabilities. It can be used as an introduction to powered wheelchairs; however, it is also important for other developmental milestones such as cause-and-effect, independence, special awareness, interpersonal relationships and participation. The Bugzi Loan Scheme has recently expanded into ‘Bugzi School Squads’. This seminar will ensure attendees understand:
- What is Bugzi
- How the Bugzi Loan Scheme works
- How the ‘Bugzi School Squads’ work
- How to access Bugzis for their school
To complement the seminar, stand CZ7 will display a comprehensive range of driving and personal mobility information to help young people with disabilities. Driving Mobility advisors will be on hand to offer one-to-one advice and to signpost all families regarding adapted driving, tuition and accessible vehicles.
